The Watts Gallery

Watts Gallery - Artists’ Village is a unique art gallery and heritage site consisting of historic Arts & Crafts buildings, learning studios for art and pottery workshops and beautifully landscaped woodlands and grounds.

The Artists’ Village is the legacy of the great Victorian artist George Frederic Watts (1817-1904) and renowned designer - maker Mary Watts (1849-1938), champions of Art for All. The permanent collection includes paintings, sculptures and pottery by the Wattses as well as the Grade I listed Watts Chapel, Mary’s masterwork.

The Artists’ Village also runs an exciting programme of exhibitions and events. The creative programme allows adults, young people and families to enjoy the tactile process of making art.

The gallery has a history of employing a Potter to work with the Art for All Charity delivering workshops, creating artwork and expanding the reach and accessibility of modern craft.

Art For All - (this is where I come in)

Fresh out of university I was taken on as the Watts Gallery Potter in 2018, and I have been delivering ceramics workshops with out youth groups under the Art For All program ever since. I have also been involved in the Limners Collection - creating a series of tableware and decorative vessels inspired by the Watts Gallery and with the help of the HALOW community group
